Does this website show current SPY market data?
No. The website shows the SYNTH fixture. No public market-data provider is connected.
Can I use my own option-chain data?
Yes. Open Use your data, or attach CSV or JSON data to a connected MCP client. Name the source and confirm that you can send it for private analysis.
What happens to an uploaded snapshot?
MCP plot files are deleted after the response is built. A browser dashboard uses a private bearer URL and expires after one hour. You can delete it sooner. Do not send personal data or API keys.
Can Option Desk fix my file?
It can normalize documented column names, C or P values, numeric commas, and clear percentage units. It reports invalid rows. It does not invent missing strikes, quotes, volatility, open interest, expiry, source, or rights.
Can I upload a Yahoo or personal Alpha Vantage export?
No. The hosted source policy blocks Yahoo, yfinance, and Alpha Vantage data. A user statement cannot override provider terms. A reviewed licence must be approved in the server code.
Can I ask for a SPY iron condor plot in ChatGPT?
Yes, when the connected plugin has this hosted MCP. Attach a permitted SPY option chain, name its source, and confirm your right to send it. Option Desk returns the plot in chat. It does not fetch the chain.
What can the hosted MCP plot now?
It can return the full SYNTH sample set. With a user-supplied chain, it can return market, Greek, positioning, and strategy payoff images with permanent warnings.
How often does the dashboard refresh?
The service creates one synthetic revision each hour while XNYS is open. The browser reads the status each minute.
What happens on weekends and market holidays?
The service retains the last fixture. It shows the next XNYS opening time and marks the view as stale.
Can Claude use the hosted MCP?
Yes. Add https://optiondesk.avidquant.com/mcp as a custom connector.
Can Codex CLI and Claude Code use the local desk?
Yes. The local plugin starts optiondesk-mcp. Provider access remains subject to provider terms.
Why is Yahoo blocked on this public service?
The project has no written right to redistribute Yahoo data through a public website or MCP server.
Are dealer gamma figures observed dealer positions?
No. Dealer signs depend on an assumed positioning convention. SYNTH uses a stated synthetic convention.
Is Option Desk investment advice?
No. It is research software. It does not recommend trades, place orders, or promise an outcome.
What must happen before current data goes live?
A provider must grant public display, derived-chart, storage, redistribution, commercial, and AI delivery rights in writing.
Can I use the engine for business?
The PolyForm Noncommercial License permits noncommercial use. Business use needs a separate written agreement.
Is Option Desk open source?
Option Desk publishes its source code on GitHub. The PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0 applies, so review its limits before business or revenue-generating use.
